Makes 24 bars
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flax seed
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup apple sauce, unsweetened
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease up a 9x13 baking pan (important).
- Combine all the dry ingredients (the first 7 ingredients)
- Create a funnel in the middle of the dry ingredients, and add the beaten egg, oil, apple sauce, and vanilla.
- Mix it up, and press into the greased baking pan.
- Bake for 28-33 minutes, or until the edges are a little brown.
Tip: cut them up 3-5 minutes after taking them out of the oven, or they will be too hard to cut through.
Another tip: freeze them and put them in your kids lunches!
